BRUTwestival is also grateful to James Drew, Andy Carling, Lee Ober, Colin Moors, Ian Macy, Davis Gangoo, José Prista von Bonhorst and guest speaker Andrew Stroehlein.
And yet more thanks must go, too, to previous organiser Christian De Neef for, among other things, answering every annoying question we had to ask him!
Despite the day falling at the same time as a general strike and a European Summit, the Twestival Fair at the Radisson Blu Hotel was a great success. Especially given how little time we had to organise it.
The team @Radissonbrussel were absloutely superb and gave us everything we wanted and more.
Later, down @sixnationspub, Phil and his team looked after us brilliantly and fed us well, too.
Thanks to those guys and gals at both venues!
It is fair to say that, probably due to the strike, very few 'local' actually came out to join us and therefore, the evening at the pub was attended mainly by people who had been at the fair.
This was unfortunate and a shame and effectively meant that, if we hadn't organised the afternoon event, we would have had a fairly low-key evening bash.
So thank heavens we organised the fair. It was in every way well worth it.
There was even a little bit of second-hand TV coverage for the event, which you can see here - http://tinyurl.com/5sf5fvp - while we also were given coverage by several local media outfits prior to the event.
And may we express our gratitude lso to those of you who tweeted the evnt and put up posters.
We'd also like to say a big 'thank you' to those of you who attended either (or both) event, despite the potential transport chaos. Because of you, Europe's Children Our Concern can look forward to receiving in the region of 800 euro in total.
This figure is obviously less than we had hoped for but, against the clock and with the strike disrupting transport across the city, we can be justly proud of our efforts.
Many thanks again
BRUTwestival Team
